Children's Ministry

Explore opportunities for your children at Marysville Grace

infant - 6th grade

We have teams of dedicated, trained volunteers who are passionate about teaching kids that God loves them more than they can imagine, Jesus wants to be their friend forever, and they can trust Him everyday, for everything.

How do we do that? By leading them to a greater understanding of how the Bible is relevant to their daily lives through reading the Bible for themselves, worship, playing a variety of games and activities, and building connections with other kids and leaders.

Your First Visit

Here's what to expect when visiting MG Kids for the first time:

You will be greeted by one of our team members at the entryway, then taken to one of our check-in stations where a volunteer will ask for:

  • The names and ages of each child
  • Any medical information or special needs that would be helpful for us to know.

We will check in each child, print a name tag for each one, then escort you to each child’s classroom so you can meet the volunteers. When you check in, a name tag will print out as well as a security code tag. Be sure to keep this tag, as it must be presented to the volunteers at the classroom door to claim your child at the end of the service.

During service:

In the event that we need to contact you during the service, your child’s security code will appear on the screen. Please check in with the Registration Desk downstairs, show your security tag, and then the volunteer will let you know which classroom to go to.

After service:

  • Parents of kids ages birth - 2nd grade must show their security tag in order to pick up their child from the classroom.
  • Kids older than 2nd grade are able to leave on their own after the service is over and told to go directly to their parents. If you prefer to have your child wait until you come and pick him/her up before dismissing them, please let the volunteers know when you drop off your child in the classroom.

SOAR Ministry

A ministry to families and kids with special needs.

We value our families with special-needs kids, and it's our goal to provide a safe place for your child (infant through 6th grade) to learn how much God loves him or her, so that you can attend worship service knowing your child is well-cared for.

We would love to get to know you or answer your questions, so please contact our Children’s Ministry Director, Cheryl Byers!

Our Events

Vacation Bible School

VBS is typically the last full week of June, Monday through Friday, from 9:15am - noon. All kids who have finished kindergarten through 6th grade at the end of the school year are invited to register and attend. There is a different theme each year and the mornings are filled with games, skits, Bible stories, crafts, snacks, and a lot of fun! Check in mid-April for the theme, dates and times, and to register your children!

Kids under the age of kindergarten are able to attend only if their parent volunteers that week.

Christmas Jam

This event is similar to Vacation Bible School except that it’s all about celebrating Christmas! It is the first Saturday morning of December and includes a retelling of a portion of the Christmas story, singing fun Christmas songs, drama, games, crafts, and snacks. Kids ages 4 years old through 6th grade are invited to register for this free event when it opens up in mid-November, so be sure to mark your calendar so you don’t forget about it!

Merge Camp

Camp is the first full week of June and is open to kids currently in 3rd - 6th grade. It’s an overnight camp at Beulah Beach, right on Lake Erie, with about 150 other kids from other Grace Brethren Churches around Ohio.

What do they do? It’s a hands-on, memorable week where we encourage kids to grow in their faith as they study God’s Word and get together to do group and individual devotions based on what they are learning that week. They will also have a lot of fun doing a variety of different activities, including riding a giant swing, sliding down a huge slip-n-slide, team building, ziplining, fishing, archery, crafts, swimming, and other fun group games.
