What is a Life Group?
A Life Group is made up of 10-14 adults who meet weekly, spending time together building relationships, studying God’s Word, and supporting one another.
Where Do They Meet?
Life Groups meet on various nights in homes throughout the Marysville area. Members of the group often take turns hosting so the location can change from week to week.
What’s the Commitment?
Life Groups are semester based and follow fairly close to the school calendar. They consist of 3 semesters: the fall semester is 10 weeks, the winter semester is 10 weeks, and the spring semester is 8 weeks.
Because relationships are key to Life Groups, we ask that you commit to attending at least 80% of the meetings. We understand that life happens and there are times that you can’t make it, but to maintain the health and unity of the group attendance is key.
We also understand that there are different stages and seasons of life, so we offer off-ramps at the end of the season. If you know that the next season isn’t going to work, please let your shepherd know.
What Will We Study?
Life Groups fall into the “Live it” portion of our church’s mission. The primary heartbeat of Life Groups is relationships. Groups spend time studying together and the majority of groups are sermon based. Each week “sermon notes” are made available as a study guide for the weekend sermon.
What About Childcare?
Life Groups are for adults; however, some groups offer childcare. We leave it up to the individual family and group to work out their own childcare. Sometimes it works best for families to share a sitter or swap childcare with another family whose Life Group meets on a different evening.
Are There Life Groups for Students?
Yes! We offer groups for students in 7th through 12th grade.
