Nursery Assistant

Do you love to see little ones grow and change in just a matter of months? Do you enjoy smiling at a baby and seeing him grin in return? Or do you like to calm their troubles by plugging in the bubble machine and watching them stand there and get soaked by the bubbles raining down on their heads? Yes, there are diapers to change and teary cheeks to wipe off, but it’s all part of the meaningful relationships being built between the little ones, the volunteers and their parents who trust you with their precious little one. If you can see yourself holding a baby or sitting on the floor watching the little ones play – you’ll love volunteering in the Nursery!

• Loves God.
• Cares about kids and families.
• Attends Marysville Grace worship services a minimum of six months and is at least 16 years old.
• Completes the application, background check, and interview process.

• Be reliable. Give your all. Come prepared and well-rested. We need your best energy.
• Show up at least 15 minutes before the service.
• Communicate in advance when a sub is needed. Use the sublist to find a replacement, then let your team leader know who is subbing for you.
• Ask your team leader what the plan is for the group that day and how you can be of additional assistance, i.e., check/change diapers, prepare snack, sanitize toys.
• Comfort, interact and encourage children to play independently or with each other while maintaining a safe environment.
• Introduce new children to the group and helps them feel welcome and part of the group.
• Ask your team leader or other team members if you’re unsure what to do – he/she may not realize that you need some direction and there’s no shame in asking for help – you’re a team!
• Assist with room and supply cleanup. Stays until the last child has left the class.
• Follow practices and procedures as outlined in the Marysville Grace Kids Training Folder.
• Attend appropriate training events and meetings whenever possible.
