Small Group Leader

Do you like talking to kids and helping them feel comfortable by asking them what they have been up to lately? Do you like to help them learn biblical principles even while playing a game? Do you have a passion for teaching kids that the Bible helps them discover who God is and that they can have a real relationship with Him? If so, then you should check out what a small group leader does!

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Loves God.
  • Cares about kids and families.
  • Attends Marysville Grace worship services a minimum of six months and is at least 16 years old.
  • Completes the application, background check, and interview process.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be reliable. Give your all. Come prepared and well-rested. We need your best energy.
  • Shows up at least 15 minutes before the service.
  • Communicate in advance when a sub is needed. Use the sublist to find a replacement, then let your team leader know who is subbing for you.
  • Plan the activities and games for the class that day and instruct your assistant as to how he/she can help. Greet parents and help all children feel welcome and part of the class.
  • Encourage each child to participate in all the activities. Listen to their stories get to know them.
  • Ask your coordinator for help if you’re unsure what to do – he/she may not realize that you need some direction and there’s no shame in asking for help – you’re a team!
  • Attend appropriate training events and meetings whenever possible.
  • Assist with room and supply cleanup. Stay until the last child has left the class.
  • Follow practices and procedures as outlined in the Marysville Grace Kids Training Folder.
